Each workspace required the monitor and hard drive of the incoming employee needed to be installed. Mathworks operates on the very cutting edge of its industry and creating a seamless transition between desks prevents a loss of productivity. A largescale move of hardware requires a trained team, like Olympia, with the knowledge to protect valuable equipment and data. The process began with the hard drive which is attached under the desk in a cubby. Cable bundles are paired with each set of hardware and run through the monitor arm. Finally, the back panel on the monitor is removed with a drill so it can be drilled into the monitor arm.

The goal of the Mathworks job was to move employees’ technology from their former work spaces to new ones. There were many phases of this lengthy project to minimize disruption over months. The expansiveness of the MathWorks campus required a level of organization beyond that of a typical employee office relocation. Each Olympia crewmember got a map at the start of the project to reference. The Olympia foreman was in control of many moving parts and was responsible for hundreds of sets of computers. The crew worked in pairs to move through each building with dollies, disassembly and reassembly tools and the computer hardware for the offices on their list.
