What to Expect When You Move Interstate with Olympia
Olympia Moving differentiates our interstate moving experience by staying in constant communication with your family, providing a personal coordinator who will track your move with care, and ensuring quality drivers and crews no matter where your move begins and ends.
Step 1: Start planning with a free moving consultation and estimate
Start by requesting a no obligation, free estimate about six weeks prior to your move date. Pricing for interstate moves are weight-based, so an Olympia moving advisor will meet with you either in your home or via phone to take discuss your plans and needs, take an inventory to determine an estimated weight, and provide and explain pricing.
Step 2: Communicate with your dedicated move coordinator and online portal
As soon as you’ve made a decision, reserve your dates with your move coordinator to ensure availability. Communication is essential for a successful interstate move, which is why we assign every family a dedicated coordinator to make sure you understand the process. On top of your coordinator’s communications, we provide the Olympia Move Portal to view and manage your move details and documents and more online.
Step 3: Prepare to move with our complimentary resources
Especially if you’ve never moved interstate before, preparing can be overwhelming. Olympia provides resources to make your planning easier. Read up on moving tips, watch how-to videos, and access free downloads in the Olympia Moving Planning Center. Get your mail, utilities, and more set up in your new home using our complimentary address change tool. Pack with ease by ordering moving boxes and materials from Olympia with delivery and watching our “how to pack” videos, or request packing help from our crew, no matter how last-minute.
Step 4: Your professional moving driver and crew arrives
If you hire our crew to pack, they will pack and prep on a scheduled date before your interstate driver arrives. One of our top-rated drivers will arrive on load day with a crew from Olympia or a nearby reputable mover in our network. Your driver will ensure your belongings are cared for from loading to transit to delivery. The moment you meet our team of friendly professionals you will know that your move is in good and careful hands.
Step 5: Home and furniture protection
To ensure your furniture remains in flawless condition on its journey, it will all be wrapped in pads and shrink wrap. Our team will also protect your home’s walls and floors. Your driver will ensure load and delivery with efficiency and care, and provide any needed furniture disassembly, hoisting, and maneuvering.
Step 6: In touch on the road
As your driver picks up and delivers families across the country, he and your moving coordinator will keep you informed of the truck’s journey. Your driver will confirm your delivery date within the delivery spread provided on your estimate well before he arrives. He will also weigh your shipment at a certified weigh station, and Olympia will be in touch right before delivery to confirm payment. Our goal is to ensure you are always confident that your belongings are safe and on their way to your new home.
Step 7: Welcome home
The same driver will arrive at your new home and he and his crew will again use home protection kits and place your furniture and boxes exactly where you’d like. They will check all items off their inventory to confirm that every box and item arrived and in perfect condition.
Step 8: How did we do?
Priority One Relocations
Does a vanline relocation and delivery spread not work with your move or schedule? Olympia Moving & Storage also offers Priority One relocations to provide shorter transit times and a specific delivery date. Ask your move advisor for an estimate for this premium service.
